Ingredients
Chicken Breasts (4, 6 oz each, halal-prepared)
BBQ Sauce (1 cup, homemade or store-bought)
Olive Oil (1 tbsp)
Paprika (1 tsp, smoked variety preferred)
Garlic Powder (1 tsp)
Gluten-Free Buns (4, or regular brioche)
Lettuce (optional topping)
Instructions
Pat chicken dry
Mix paprika, garlic powder, and olive oil
Brush seasoning evenly over chicken
Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 10 minutes
Remove 10 minutes before cooking
Preheat cast iron skillet 5 minutes over medium heat
Cook chicken 7 minutes per side
Baste with 1/4 cup BBQ sauce each side
Place chicken on buns
Top with remaining sauce and lettuce
Optional: Toast buns 5-7 seconds
Notes
Dry chicken fully before seasoning for better browning
Use a meat thermometer to ensure 165°F internal temperature
Baste underside of chicken during last 3 minutes for sauce caramelization
Let chicken rest 5 minutes before assembling
Avoid flipping chicken too soon; wait for sear lines
