Description

Juicy and flavorful chicken burgers with a crispy crust, grilled to perfection in under 20 minutes. A quick and easy American-style recipe that skips pork and alcohol while delivering restaurant-quality results.


Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground chicken (93% lean)
1/4 cup (30g) breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
1/2 cup (60g) finely chopped onion or minced garlic
1 tbsp (15ml) mayonnaise
Buns (4)
Lettuce, sliced
Tomatoes, sliced
Avocado slices or guacamole (optional)
Cheese, optional


Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion or garlic, and mayonnaise. Mix gently 3 times until just incorporated.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a 1/2-inch thick patty and make a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent spreading.
Preheat the grill to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease the grate and cook the patties for 5 minutes per side. Add cheese during the last 2 minutes if using.
While the burgers cook, toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster. Assemble the sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, avocado (or guacamole), and the cooked patty.

Notes

For extra juiciness, chill the formed patties in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before grilling.
Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free option.
Any halal-compatible yogurt or mayonnaise substitute can replace the mayonnaise if needed.
