Description

A fresh, customizable American classic combining ground beef, elbow macaroni, and rich tomato sauce. Ready in 40 minutes with bold flavor and adaptable ingredients.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds ground beef (90/20 lean; substitute with turkey or plant-based crumbles)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cups canned tomato sauce (low-sodium preferred)
14 oz elbow macaroni (substitute with zucchini noodles for low-carb)
1/4 cup milk

Instructions

Chop onion and sauté in olive oil until softened (5 mins). Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
Brown ground beef until crumbly; drain fat.
Stir in tomato paste and cook 2 minutes. Add canned tomato sauce.
Simmer sauce 10 minutes, then boil and drain pasta.
Mix pasta into sauce, then stir in milk before serving.

Notes

For deeper flavor, cook onions and garlic separately first
Milk adds creamy richness; substitute with almond milk for dairy-free
Stir pasta into sauce post-draining to avoid starchiness
Triple dish can be frozen for 2-3 months
